Álvaro Medina

Historian and art critic. He has taught at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and has worked as curator for the Museo de Arte Moderno in Bogota, during which time he curated several exhibitions, among them: Arte y violencia en Colombia desde 1948 (Art and Violence in Colombia from 1948). He has published 12 books on his specialized subjects, the latest entitled Poeticas visuales del Caribe colombiano (Poetic Visuals from the Colombian Caribbean) about the links between the writers from the so-called “Barranquilla Group” and seven regional artists.
