Ex-combatant of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia -FARC-EP-. Joined at the age of 16, remained in the group for 10 years.
It happened that this teacher is the teacher of this school, the Bocana del Fragüita School, in Caquetá. And there, in that area where she was teaching, the guerrillas imposed strict rules.
She had been told she could only travel every two months to where her family was. She didn’t obey.
One day, when she arrived, two guys took her and tied her up. She begged them not to do anything to her, that she was nobody, that she had traveled just to where her family was to run some errands.
They told her that she didn’t obey their orders because she belonged to the other side (that’s to say to the paramilitaries)…that she traveled to give information to them. They took her and tied her up here, where we see this tree. There they tied her up, and kept her there for three days. And then they took her away. This is called el horcadero (the gallows).
I feel that by telling you this story that I had to live, I feel much relief.
