Ex-combatant of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia -FARC-EP-. Joined at the age of 23, remained there for 4 years.
I am telling you that it happened as you see it.
The Red Cross was the only one that could go in to take out the dead people. This happened like eight days after. The stench was incredible; the dead people already smelled.
Here I am standing, waiting for the guy who is looking through the glasses to lend them to me, so I could see the dead people clearly. They could be identified because of the clothes they were wearing. Some people were NN and nobody identified them; nobody knew who they were.
Most of the people killed were civilians, mere civilians. The mourners went and recovered their relatives’ corpses.
That was something really ugly; in other words, a massacre.
I remember everything as it happened. I don’t forget that. It happened during the 2001 Holy Week. It was on Holy Tuesday; I remember it so well.
